Conceptual Art Meets Generative Art: A Journey from Plaster to Digital Surrogates.

By XSaha

In this article, we explore the work of Allan McCollum, a renowned American artist known for his conceptually-based artwork. We focus on his "Plaster Surrogates" series, a collection of multiple, unique plaster objects that aim to represent frames and objects. I also provide some background on McCollum and delve into the concept behind his work, so this article provides a detailed look at the integration of conceptual and generative art through the lens of McCollum's work.

Join me as I rifle through some select choices, after offering a bit of history and context to it all.
