PFPs are a very popular format of NFT content.

Language is combinatory by itself and combinatory art is nothing new; "The term rhapsode is derived from rhapsōidein (ῥαψῳδεῖν), meaning "to sew songs [together]" (wikipedia source: Ridderstrøm, H. From simple anonymous tiles design to W.A.Mozart's "Musikalisches Wurfelspiel" combining pre-composed elements can be an act of creative exploration (for example Raymond Queneau's "Cent mille milliards de poèmes") or/and especially a way to raise productivity in the context of popular art and entertainment (for example Hanna & Barbera studios "limited animation").

In industrial and post-industial societies modularity is the amniotic fluid of human experience while mass customization is a production model that is evolving consumerism into an identity creative act.

And.. if even some weapons can be art masterpieces, why not drawings?

Said that, maybe because of their big commercial success and the connected computer aided superprodutctive "gold rush", in 2022 PFPs to many look hypertrophically saturating the NFT art market and more invasive than hybridative: so the debate about their artistic status or aesthetic value, stated that people need a "professionally" pleasing digital appearance.

Is the PFP already in it's late "ciselante" phase, or it's just the beginning?
