Inner Worlds

Inner Worlds showcases the magic of 3D, WebGL, and shaders. Inner Worlds are 3D scenes with custom dynamic shaders that draw the ink/hatching effects.

All of the ink/hatching effects are generated with shader code, there are no textures used.

One very interesting shader combines an image with a hatching effect. If you zoom into an object using this shader, you can 'see' the image inside the object. The image is not mapped as a texture onto the object, but is projected in screen space. It's as though the full res image is behind the object. As you zoom in, you'll see more and more of the image. It's a striking effect, almost like a portal to another world. Hence the name 'Inner Worlds'. For the Inner World scenes, the rocks around the tree and the billboard use this shader.

Inner Worlds is coded using babylonjs. Babylonjs is the most advanced WebGL based gaming engine available. Rendering and navigating around the scene should be possible on all modern browsers with recent hardware. Inner Worlds was developed on the latest stable version of Chrome, but should work on any browser with WebGL2 support. Inner Worlds will render on any size screen, but the scene layout is optimized for a square canvas.

By default, Inner Worlds stops the render loop after a few seconds to free up the GPU. The render loop must be activated to use the camera or to print a png. You can toggle the render loop with the 's' key, see below. Activating the render loop lets you zoom in to find the 'Inner Worlds' in your artwork.

Inner Worlds also act as an access token for fxintell. fxintell is an advanced analytics tool for all the Tezos NFT markets, including fxhash, objkt, Versum, Teia/Hen, 8bidou, and typed. You can read about fxintell in the 'Introducing fxintell' fxtext article published by puolo.

As a special offer, owners of Inner Worlds will be granted lifetime access to the highest tier of fxintell. In other words, owners of Inner Worlds will have access to all features of fxintell into the future. If you are a beta tester of fxintell, we will send you an Inner Worlds NFT from our reserve.

Notes and Keyboard

's' - toggle the render loop. If the render loop is on, you can rotate the scene by dragging the left mouse button. You can zoom with the mouse wheel, and pan the scene by dragging with the right mouse button.
'p' - print the current scene as a png. It will be saved in the exact size of the window. To create a png, you must make sure the render loop is toggled on.
resizing - The render loop must be on to resize the scene properly.
