Toxic mouse mutant, or (TMM).
The TMM mouse mutant is the result of the use as recombinant DNA of the gene that codes for the toxic mouse toxin.
The mutation is associated with the loss of activity of the enzyme that catalyzes the formation of the active metabolite and therefore cannot be produced by the enzyme.
Mice carrying the mutation show symptoms of toxicity, while male mice that pass the mutation on to their offspring show signs of insanity.
