Habitats

Dive deep into economies & ecologies.

Habitats is an artwork+data visualization about the world economy and the thousands of species, whose existence is threatened by our economies.

Created using p5js.

Remaining supply will be burnt on February 1st.

·Data

Each edition is assigned 3-7 countries as well as a group of species. Each country is represented by a circle, while the species group decides the color scheme.

The GDP (PPP) per capita of each country is shown by the size of the circle. Large circles mean a large GDP, and vice versa.

The amount of threatened species is shown by the density of the circle. A very dense circle means few threatened species, and vice versa.

Habitats adapts nicely to different screen sizes.
