Nowruz Weaving #18

"Nowruz is the new day, so things renew themselves, and you should renew yourself as well. As a kid, I always felt that the sun was brighter and a bit more orange on Nowruz Day." - Fatemeh Keshavarz

50% of the primary goes to 'Tezos for Iran' - A charity foundraiser in solidarity with the protests and to raise awareness for 👩 WOMEN' RIGHTS 👩 in Iran.

This project aims to protect the rights of Iranian women. The project was done last week for this charity. But to my surprise today I read a friend's post that there will be a huge celebration in Iran and many places around the world. The Persian New Year is a two-week festival that marks the start of spring. So I would like to take this opportunity to commemorate the occasion with a two-week celebration.
I see the greatest strength of the NFTcommunity in the fact that we get to know each other's culture through each other's creations and reminds us how little we know about the world we live in.

🌿 HAPPY NOWRUZ! 🌿

Nowruz is all about saying goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring!

"The word Nowruz is a combination of the Farsi words "now", meaning "new", and "ruz", meaning "day".

Nowruz is usually marked on March 21, but the date does occasionally change because it falls on the day of the spring equinox. This year celebrations will begin on Tuesday.

The celebration was added to the Unesco list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2009. In 2010, the UN declared March 21 as International Nowruz Day.

"For more than 300 million people around the world, it is a time for family and friends to come together, reflect on the past and look forward to a brighter future," said UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in his message this year. -

"Nowruz is also a celebration of humanity’s rich cultural heritage and diversity. And a chance for all of us to be guided by its values of 🕊️ PEACE 🕊️, dialogue and solidarity." (thenationalnews)

"As the spring equinox, Nowruz marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere,[37][better source needed] i.e. the moment at which the Sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year. Traditional customs of Nowruz include fire and water, ritual dances, gift exchanges, reciting poetry, symbolic objects and more; these customs differ between the diverse peoples and countries that celebrate the festival."
