Mortara #1

In the silent realm beyond life, Mortara, the Goddess of Death, sat upon her throne made of broken souls. With every whisper of the wind, a new soul would arrive, guided by her pale, outstretched hand. The world of the living trembled under the weight of her gaze, for Mortara could see the final moments of every being, their fears, their regrets. One day, a mortal, whose heart had been untouched by fear, entered her domain, challenging her power. With a smile, Mortara knew that for the first time, she would meet a soul who would not bow—only to discover that even the fearless must eventually face her.
