Moonstruck #1

Moonstruck is a charming film filled with the beauty of filial piety that embodies Italian culture. It is lighthearted yet peppered with a morbid tone to keep you on your toes. Though it is clear that the symbolism of the moon is outdated and irrelevant, there are strong messages in the film. The over-the-top yet matured moments by Cher makes for a good chuckle while the green Nicholas Cage is a sight to behold. The real beauty in this film lies in the veteran actors that bring much personality and flair to their individual characters. From Rose's morning coffee to her brief encounter with a kind professor; she represents a mother with experience and maturity. Her father's inner conflict with himself is frustrating yet comical. All in all, a movie that will indeed appeal to many after a long time.
