Context-Free Wind #24
by Ross Goodwin
Project
Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.
These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR
Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

- The bath over this brick leaves fearlessly. That mansion of this stanza falls. That braggart of the horse screams. Oh my, that twisted cog prevails carelessly. Logically, this poverty that diminishes this soul to that smoke that writes furiously complicates the cabbage. The porcelain tenement dissolves w/r/t the glass. The rotting aristocrat integrates that voice above this hysterical imagination. This decade that questionably quafs this hair screams. Oh, the hair enters to the infamous idea. In summary, the lover through this fetish that falls madly writes into the injury over that thought of that injury. The pillow politely carries that 7th forest. The journey into this plane dismisses the universe that augments the bald fantasy. That world fails in this traffic that summons the consciousness. Accordingly, this time leaves. That body to the brand enters to the labyrinth of the earth. Oh my, that question of this torso weeps. This tragedy stands. This eye that dies incomprehensibly defies this wall above this king that awakens. That earth beneath the injury beneath this idea that foolishly quafs this mesiah against this plane of the aristocrat unconsciously alters the solution of this highway. Accordingly, the traffic about this lover softly delivers this manuscript against that wizard that peaks. Regardless, this cloak through this cemetary that plays into that broken room blinks through that memory of the evening. This angel that smoulders accesses this prostitute.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
