Context-Free Wind #44
by Ross Goodwin
Project
Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.
These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR
Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

- The labyrinth bristles against that sentence. Wow, the poverty of this madness wilts artificially. The hero against that construct of that heroine delivers that rant that cautiously hugs that heart that madly is this ingenious ocean. This shard of this melody consumes this brilliance of the demon. Accordingly, that acid against the bath that fears the toast of the escape carelessly hugs the iguana at this goddamn book. Consequently, the rhythm through the smoke that rots gingerly dreams. In summary, that science that represents the ecstasy that talks with that woman of this summit hypnotizes the heaven that dissentigrates on the bridge of this alcohol. The vision that turns skips on the magical spot. However, that actuary of the jazz vomits slowly. Accordingly, that journey shatters to the ragged water. That lover into that ball of the king shudders. This intellectual roof talks through that radio. The knife of that street dies. The sky of this body weeps furiously. That night that indirectly augments the peninsula that wonders accidentally burns madly. In summary, the typewriter of the ship stagnates. That logical tenement bleeds carelessly. Goddamn, the universe that screams beneath that heaven of this landlord questions that platonic smoke. Oh my, this midnight motorcycle yodels fearlessly. The syntax about that air on this poem that blames this machine prevails about that injury of that ode. The oblivion through this knife madly condemns that mask that speaks uncontrollably. That buffalo of the air sobs on that bristling highway.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
