Context-Free Wind #46
by Ross Goodwin
Project
Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.
These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR
Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

- Goddamn, that end over that vision above that magical pillow writes accidentally. In summary, the radio prevails for that wino. Goddamn, the nightmare beneath this oblivion speaks gingerly. The solution of that potion stands artificially. Logically, the street of that dome uncontrollably complicates the insane phrase. Oh my, that pillow of that fear skips logically. This river that rests politely rots for this wizard. Wow, that brand of this sky indirectly distinguishes this transparent wizard. This loft struggles easily. Oh my, that cabbage of that phrase publishes that bridge for this particle about this fear. In summary, that lonesome potion stands for this ignominious mortgage. Oh my, the absolute traffic softly engulfs that hallucination of the solution. This spoon that plays comes over the buffalo over that landlord for this etherized brick. Regardless, that spot that fails loudly fucks that god of the sky. Goddamn, this prison that sobs easily fears this decade of this prostitute. Logically, the slippery machinery laughs. This question for that labyrinth that whistles quickly rots. That factory into this earth dies meticulously. That handle of that architecture distinguishes this heart of this journey. The poverty of the braggart blossoms. Wow, this architecture of this particle prevails through that platonic cabbage. This supernatural tree flies artificially. Regardless, the smoke of this feeling wilts on that prostitute. Oh my, that war of this motel dissolves. This spoon of that smoke prevails slowly. The body of this woman floats. Wow, the skeleton that invents that night of that melody screams. This brilliant street embodies the screaming actuary. Goddamn, this god of this journey sings with this escape beneath the feeling.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
