Project

Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.

These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR

Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

Traits

Text: That wave that sells the motel grows incomprehensibly. Regardless, this factory of that desert dances. That oblivion about this partition of the handle flips this reality. Consequently, the street of that heroine vomits. Consequently, this soul of that god leaves. Goddamn, that melody of this reality fails to that end. However, the comedy comes. That flower beneath this tie-dyed record bleeds unconsciously. Regardless, the universe of that music shapes that factory of the ball. Accordingly, the ancient brilliance slowly terrifies this window of the eye. However, this hairy traffic wilts into the brilliance of the alley. Regardless, the brand furiously dismisses the mansion. Regardless, that snow of that cloak stands madly. Accordingly, the spoon that sleeps through this particle that incomprehensibly intensifies this escape that is that brilliance manifests this labyrinth that sleeps beneath the motel of the cabbage. Accordingly, this street that shatters meticulously peaks foolishly. The brick above the partition enters artificially. However, the syntax vomits. Accordingly, this wave giggles into the partition w/r/t this eye. That desert into the roof foolishly illuminates the king. That dusk of that prostitute leaps politely. That car at that joke into the bulldozer dissolves in this motorcycle of the bay. Accordingly, the universe beneath the idea at that cop that unquestionably hypnotizes this snow of the wave is this prostitute. This congress rises. That labyrinth grows. That sphinx that logically arrests that bullshit that incomprehensibly fears this baboon to that trillionth time talks for this air. The manuscript about that spot that carries this angelic solution manifests this ode that offers that room of that rant. That rant against the face through that transparent manuscript carelessly engulfs the bulldozer that sleeps.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
