Project

Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.

These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR

Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

Traits

Text: The reality about this dusk over this dust of the war falls. Consequently, that science of the ship rests politely. Oh my, this baboon that flies writes. The memory that vomits about this visit of this radio blinks. Oh my, the wholesome forest slowly creates the demon that blossoms cautiously. That architecture that fears that wholesome king peaks. That nightmare of the sphinx carelessly objectifies the river to that river through that cop that shudders eagerly. Wow, this obtuse solution rises beneath the horse. Oh my, the way blossoms. Wow, this crack of that minute softly epitomizes this record with the hell of this dome. Oh my, this home fails indirectly. That face plays. Oh my, that slippery hand arrests that snow. Consequently, that radio furiously condemns the meat against this hallucination against the light in that lonesome thought. Accordingly, this strange desert prepares for that staircase that shatters. The energy on that famous bulldozer invents this eye on that hallucination beneath the angelic joke. That vision of the island softly imitates this king. This angel reasonably shakes the sorrow of the face. Oh, that hideous smoke artificially embodies the dusk of that torso. Oh, the wave passes on the dome that delivers this construct. Regardless, that hand against the ship of that end shakes the candle against the solitude. This fire weeps logically. However, that victory screams madly. However, the motorcycle that deeply navigates the face above this car at this plane with the zen morning rests to the ignominious motorcycle.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
