Context-Free Wind #145
by Ross Goodwin
Project
Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.
These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR
Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

- Consequently, the snow of this body rides the knife into that desert. Wow, this word of the book stands fearlessly. Goddamn, this blazing consciousness easily bites this rhythm. Goddamn, that potion of that hair leaves. That air easily transforms that thought that comes against that morning that invents the ultimate sorrow. That traffic stands deeply. Accordingly, that reality that awakens lives with this reality. Logically, the feminine face plays. The wino with that face that wilts through this congress of this construct wonders logically. Logically, this evening of this question awakens against this jazz of the iguana. However, that stanza to this collar through that braggart blinks. That hair w/r/t this cop beneath this spooky syntax passes. Logically, this book of this vision furiously consumes the lonesome joy. The rotting dream squirts that syntax that scares the muffin beneath this sphinx about the eye of that car. This acid about that traffic that wonders artificially beats this dusk. The aristocrat that wilts through the hell that describes this decade that shrinks stagnates w/r/t this colorless factory. However, this acid that stagnates indirectly burns. Wow, this fearsome way floats at this hell beneath the mesiah. This meat dissentigrates. The alcohol of that baboon rots deeply. That handle stagnates. Oh, this knife into this visit over this brilliance prevails unquestionably. Wow, this vision of that heart heightens this energy that hypnotizes this staircase. Goddamn, this solution beneath that ingenious syntax wonders madly.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
