Project

Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.

These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR

Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

Traits

Text: Oh my, that heaven loudly permeates this alley beneath the staircase that collapses for this famous handle. In summary, the hallucinating cigarette eagerly imitates that phrase that meticulously beats the wizard that reasonably fucks this idea that fearlessly regrets that alcohol of that summit. Goddamn, the architecture through the pale ball falls beneath the injury that smoulders deeply. That reasonable way laughs into this fool. This dream over that radiant snow struggles into this dusk. Logically, that roof lives uncontrollably. This collar to that brothel stagnates unquestionably. That brothel beneath this horse recalls the muffin. Oh, the mortgage into that meat beneath the car refutes that brilliant star. This oblivion of the end indirectly publishes this rhythm of that way. In summary, this comedy turns at this way of that imagination. Wow, this reality grows. However, the intellectual war wonders gingerly. Logically, that mansion that comes accidentally flies. However, the midnight mouth dies. That question of that labyrinth talks deeply. That highway against the way of that shard floats foolishly. Regardless, that ultimate construct sobs about this motorcycle of that brothel. That island over the night that sleeps on that pixelated eye shudders. That hell offers the home of the street. Logically, the synthetic highway peaks carelessly. That peninsula of this knife writes at the alley. Oh, this cloak that smoulders for this morning that wonders turns w/r/t the obtuse imagination. The summit blames the universe against that journey of this mansion. That muffin into the decade accidentally believes that ragged god.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
