Context-Free Wind #207
by Ross Goodwin
Project
Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.
These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR
Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

- The hero above the feeling of that flower veils the tenement of the scholar. The dusk that wilts simulates this river to the joke that prepares. In summary, that war that shatters madly leaves. The brothel that rises saves that hair of that idea. Consequently, that candle smoulders w/r/t that mortgage of the bullshit. This graffiti of the aristocrat shrouds this dome of the decade. The island in the energy of that highway sings fearlessly. The rant that peaks loudly whistles. The dome peaks carelessly. That logical syntax exhibits the hydrogen that warps that fire of the machine. Oh my, the mansion of the fear smoulders incomprehensibly. The mask that screams accidentally quafs this baboon above this cadaverous smoke. Accordingly, the sorrow that blossoms dreams quickly. The iguana to the body over that brilliance over this highway causes this rhythm. Regardless, this shard of the king fears this comedy that dances slowly. Logically, this dust of that scholar objectifies the god that meticulously delivers this mind against that joke of this dream. Regardless, the cigarette of that cog bleeds. In summary, this forsaken wall deeply shapes that rhythm for that growing ball. However, that feeling of this end turns deeply. This comedy of that prison carelessly tricks this radio. This hand easily critques this porcelain voice. The madness that falls peaks eagerly. Goddamn, the architecture that leaps through this amphetaminic home shatters.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
