Context-Free Wind #217
by Ross Goodwin
Project
Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.
These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR
Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

- Goddamn, that graffiti that dissentigrates blinks questionably. Accordingly, that building of that cop leaps cautiously. That fetish that indirectly permeates this voice beneath the wizard of this spot dances against that brand on the fire of this minute. Oh, that cemetary that shatters flies deeply. In summary, that dust of that brilliance peaks. Logically, this bridge that smoulders to the king sobs against this minute of that imagination. This jazz awakens unconsciously. The science arrests this hero at that loft of this lover. This intellectual morning believes the alcohol of the oblivion. In summary, this island of the purgatory giggles indirectly. Regardless, the intellectual demon fails. This hallucination of that aristocrat leaps. Regardless, this solitude to the tenement cautiously shaves the dome. This toast prepares quickly. The brand of the prostitute prevails for this river. This staircase into that torso of the consciousness sobs against that ghost to the muffin at the nightmare w/r/t the cigarette. Oh my, that landlord that giggles wonders logically. That ode peaks unconsciously. That sentence of this bath skips unconsciously. Wow, the heroine with this congress that incomprehensibly epitomizes that fear permeates that tragedy about this reality. This hairy ocean sells that insane war. Oh, the salty water softly invents that staircase through that sanity that speaks above this music. In summary, the cool cog constructs this lonesome scholar. The buffalo that shatters to that cemetary of the candle fearlessly defies this wizard. Regardless, this mansion of the wino shatters eagerly. However, that baboon engulfs the manuscript that screams.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
