Context-Free Wind #220
by Ross Goodwin
Project
Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.
These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR
Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

- That sentence bristles meticulously. That congress that shaves that bullshit dissolves deeply. Regardless, the bridge that rises whistles. Regardless, this granite hydrogen prevails beneath this solitude of the fire. However, the injury beneath the god screams w/r/t the god through the war of the consciousness. Wow, the bullshit that meticulously describes the labyrinth of the architecture obstructs this soul at that aristocrat. The crack that drowns about that brand turns meticulously. Oh, this voice into that loft of that window sings. Accordingly, the poverty about that forest of the dome rides this partition with the bay. The mortgage at that eye stands accidentally. In summary, the spoon of that aristocrat blinks. Accordingly, that machinery that comes cautiously whistles through the typewriter. Oh my, that fantasy plays. Oh my, that desert of the wino unconsciously sculpts that brothel of that desert. Oh, the partition beneath the skeleton that yodels prepares. Oh my, this feeling regrets the snow at that screaming factory. Regardless, the collar peaks. This radiant air sobs questionably. Regardless, the graffiti into this phrase vomits. However, this street beats that mask that eagerly squirts this alcohol that embodies that iguana of this hallucination. The wino of this wave shudders softly. Wow, the ode of that air speaks. This wriggling skeleton weeps beneath this mortgage of the cabbage. The idea wilts reasonably. The soul ossifies this construct. This glass with this book that shrouds that decade on the slum of the heart unquestionably publishes that university of this aristocrat. Consequently, the light about this socialist sorrow giggles quickly.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
