Context-Free Wind #235
by Ross Goodwin
Project
Context-Free Wind is a poetry generator and visualizer created by Ross Goodwin (https://rossgoodwin.com) in vanilla JavaScript without the use of any framework or external libraries, excluding code required by fxhash. The generator uses a custom context-free grammar algorithm and word lists assembled by the creator to produce (...admittedly, fairly strange...) sentences.
These sentences are then blown aloft by a procedural "wind" -- based on the algorithm Goodwin first explored in the following Dweet:

ABOUT THE CREATOR
Ross Goodwin is an artist, creative technologist, and former White House ghostwriter. He employs machine learning, natural language processing, and other computational tools to realize new forms and interfaces for written language. From word.camera, a camera that expressively narrates its photographs in real time using artificial neural networks, to SUNSPRING (with Oscar Sharp, starring Thomas Middleditch), the world's first film created from an AI-written screenplay; from making London’s Trafalgar Square lions roar poetry (“Please Feed The Lions” with Es Devlin), to writing a novel with a car (1 the Road), Goodwin’s projects and collaborations have earned international attention. Winner of the 2018 IDFA DocLab Award for Digital Storytelling as well as Columbia University's Digital Dozen Breakthroughs in Storytelling Award for 2019, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from MIT in 2009, and his graduate degree from NYU ITP in May 2016.

Traits
- Text
- This solitude that imagines that muffin of that injury wilts on that melody of this water. Oh my, that snow laughs fearlessly. However, that spot shaves this acute dust. Oh my, that decade of that joy grows to that prison that comes above that tragedy that burns through the light of this earth. Consequently, that consciousness awakens meticulously. This cemetary beneath this minute that bristles through the sanity on the machine examines the poem. Consequently, this machinery of the dome describes that vision that transforms that bald hydrogen. Logically, that mouth of the mask logically complicates this highway. That motorcycle into that brick that shudders fails. Regardless, that wave of the partition wonders about that hero about this comedy of that minute. Consequently, that dusk disguises that night with this desert at that ship on this awestruck purgatory. The alcohol of that heaven meticulously exhibits that obscene mouth. That melody that squirts this insane cigarette sings furiously. Accordingly, the angelic congress yodels reasonably. Oh, the financial angel imagines this brilliance. Goddamn, this light of that tragedy rests slowly. This hero that interrogates that snow that eagerly simulates that idea wonders incomprehensibly. The star with this obtuse journey circles the soul. That brothel that enters in the car with that cigarette on this minute burns accidentally. The bulldozer for the grave on the book slowly obstructs the particle that softly proposes the room beneath that gonzo traffic. This graffiti for this universe of that evening weeps over the phrase that laughs.1 of 254 indexed NFTs · 0%
