Abstracción en Bandada #4

It is a generative art work that combines vector fields and shaders. The work is based on two sources of information: the visual patterns produced by autonomous agents and a reference image taken as a color palette.

A vector field guides the behavior of a set of agents that move through space (resembling the behavior of flocks of birds or schools of fish) drawing each one a motif that, from the superposition of several, produces patterns in gray scales. The brightness values of these patterns are used as location information to decide from which pixel the color of the other image is extracted (which is taken as a color palette), the combination of the vivid and natural movement of the agents with the textures of the images produce these strange images that refer to the elements.

The work combines 17 images of colored bases with 4 different types of motifs used by agents.

It can be interacted with by pressing the mouse button to attract the set of agents.
